For many, leather brings back memories of the 1960’s, distressed bombers in hues of black, charcoal and brown, worn with washed denim and beaten up sneakers. Swings and roundabouts, this trend has inevitably become popular amongst the fashion icons to bring to the catwalks a chic reinvention of traditional leather. The luxe trend now extends far and beyond the humble bomber jacket, we are seeing leather (and “pleather” for the more economically savvy of us shoppers), in the form of caps, jogging pants, jackets, angular skirts, dresses – the list goes on. The fashion public are embracing it with open arms, rocking the leather on all occasions, transitioning it from day to night with ease. We are seeing the individual embrace leather in all forms to smarten up their day-wear and to add a degree of sex appeal to night-wear. There is something irresistibly chic about a woman in leather. In it's brand spanking new venue at Carriagworks in Eveleigh, Mercedes Benz Fashion Week Australia kicked off on Monday. With the streets of the inner city suburb buzzing with fashionistas, it was so exciting to see how the quirky venue was transformed into such a chic backdrop for some of Australia's designers to showcase their new collections I was fortunate enough to be given an opportunity to assist with the Romance Was Born show which debuted it's Spring/Summer '14 collection on Monday night, as one of the first of many amazing shows which were to come. The incredible installation art piece which can be seen  here  was something so out of the ordinary but so Romance. Here are some other looks from fashion week which I am absolutely loving, way too many things on my wish list right now. R x

So it has become apparent that blog surfing is a subconcious passion of mine. Whilst I am supposedly meant to be writing a uni essay, cleaning my room or doing just about any other task from the endless to do lists that I create for myself, I always seem to become distracted with the pristine pages of fashion blogs. From Pinterest  The beauty of scrolling page by page through arrays of beautiful clothes, shoes and accessories that I'll probably never own (but longingly lust over for months on end), is something which I wanted to re-create in this blog. I figured, since the year 2013 marks the beginning of my career as a fashion student, what better way to celebrate this by creating a blog devoted to all things of the fashionable kind.
